Products are recalled if they pose a danger to consumers, and thousands of products are recalled every year. Many of these products are made for children. Here are some recently recalled children’s products:
Playgro Infant Activity Rattles
Recalled on April 14, 2021, these rattles were found to pose a choking hazard. Rings on the back of the horse could easily dislodge and choke a child. More than 18,000 products were recalled, and consumers were instructed to take rattles away from children and discontinue use immediately. They were also instructed to contact Playgro for a refund.
Target Cat & Jack Baby Rompers
Recalled on April 14, 2021, the rompers were found to pose a choking hazard. Heart-shaped decals on the rompers were easily removed and could cause choking if a baby put it in their mouth. More than 44,000 items were recalled. Consumers were instructed to take the rompers away from children and return them to a Target store for a full refund.
RH Children’s Bath Wraps
Recalled on April 7, 2021, RH bath wraps failed to meet federal flammability standards. This means that the wraps could catch on fire and pose an extreme risk to children. Consumers were instructed to discontinue use immediately and return to RH for a full refund of the purchase price or a credit. More than 55,000 items were recalled.
Battop Infant Bath Seats
Recalled on April 1, 2021, Battop infant bath seats failed to meet federal safety standards for infant bath seats. The seats were not stable and could tip over while in use. This could pose a drowning risk for babies. Consumers were instructed to immediately stop using the bath seats and contact RH to return the product. RH would provide a free shipping label for return and a full refund. About 5,000 units were recalled.
Juratoys Toy Trumpets
Recalled on January 13, 2021, these toys were recalled because small pieces inside the trumpet could come out and pose a choking risk. Consumers were instructed to stop using the trumpets, dispose of them, and contact Juratoys for a refund. More than 3,000 items were recalled.
