The damages in a death case involving an 18-wheeler are going to be the same type of damages that would be available in any other type of accident case. The damages are set forth by a statute and whether anyone has a claim on behalf of the dead person or the deceased then, will be determined by what the relationship was with that person. Then, the damages will be set by the statute and will basically be what your grief is, if in fact you are the person that’s enabled to file the lawsuit.
